Meet Mia of Playful Heart Parenting wearing butterfly antennae headband

Hi! Nice to meet you. I’m Mia.

And I gave up searching through the camera roll. This is the only recent photo I could find of my face that is not a selfie of me nursing or holding my sleeping toddler. I text at least two sleeping toddler pics to my husband each time my son falls asleep — anyone else do this?)

I had just thrown together these late-night antennae for my stepdaughter. She wanted to be a butterfly for book character day at school. The character was from a story she and I wrote together — pretty cool!

Anyway, I’m so happy you found your way here!

The goal of this blog is to offer ideas and inspiration for ways to engage in creative play and connect with your kids on a meaningful level.

This particular page is a just little overview on me for anyone interested!

  • Grew up in northern California. Sang in the family band (my parents still gig — check ’em out: barryandannie.com). Performed in lots of musicals. Had an overall fun childhood with my sister, Natalie, full of creativity, imagination, and goofiness.
  • Went on to study musical theater in college and performed internationally and nationally.
  • Wound up in Music City (Nashville, TN) by way of cruise ship rehearsals. Discovered a love for songwriting and singing original music (Mia Rose Lynne — Spotify)
  • Continued performing while working with children in both theater education and songwriting.
  • Met my incredible husband, Steve, and became stepmom to my awesome stepdaughter, Aliya, and then mom to my sweet son, Zal.
  • Started this blog!

Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me a little. I hope this site will be a helpful resource for you!
